Opportunity is knocking (on TWO doors)!  



With the recent launch of the ECA (E-Commerce Associates) Program, a couple of pretty big opportunities have just opened up for SFI affiliates. Let's explore them!

A few weeks ago, an SFI affiliate contacted me with a suggestion about us adding a product he was very excited about. I mean, REALLY excited about. As I explained to him, yes, we COULD try contacting the manufacturer and see if they would be open to furnishing the product to us at wholesale, and then we'd stock it and sell it at TripleClicks.

The reality is, however, there just isn't enough time in the day for us to go after every product that looks good out there. Nor is it our goal to have massive warehouses all over the world and stock and ship thousands of different products.

So I explained to him the way to make it happen, that the way to quickly get that product he was so excited about into TC, was through the new ECA Program. What's more, if he followed my advice, I explained he could be the recipient of many thousands of dollars in ECA Royalties over the years to come.

Has the lightbulb gone off yet? What I mean is, I bet that there are at least a few products YOU use that you swear by. You believe them to be outstanding in every way. You'd buy them at TripleClicks again and again and again if they were available. And you believe that EVERYONE ought to be using these products because they are so awesome, right?!

So make it happen! With our ECA Program, all it takes is a simple referral. Someday you may be telling people, "Yep, I made one referral...and made a million dollars!"

Imagine getting a product you truly love and are truly passionate about into TripleClicks. If you love it, so will others, maybe thousands or tens of thousands of others. Maybe thousands of them will put that product on Standing Order so they get it automatically month after month, and year after year. Think how incredible that would be!

And if that product is truly great, I bet you'll aggressively promote its page in TripleClicks because you truly believe in that product and you'll probably make a lot of sales because of your passion for it. And for the same reason, many, many other SFI affiliates may also decide to promote "your" product too...and with each sale, you can be earning lifetime ECA Royalties from all over the world!

"Yeah, that sounds really good, but I'm not a sales person," you might be thinking. Or maybe you just feel it would be too much work.

Well, as it's always been, "fortune favors the bold." Nothing worthwhile in life is ever easy. You WILL have to do some work. You probably WILL have to get out of your comfort zone. So what? What's the worst that could happen? Maybe you'll experience some embarrassment. Don't worry about it, it's not fatal and it passes quickly. :WINK:

Maybe you'll end up spending many hours writing letters, making phone calls, etc. And maybe you won't get any responses for weeks. So what? Persistence is always a prerequisite of success in anything. If you keep at it, I assure you you will get responses, and some will be of the "yes, I'm in!" variety. And won't those lifetime royalties WAY more than make up for your time investment (that you probably would have otherwise wasted watching TV)? Yes, of course.

And maybe for that one product you really, really, really want in TripleClicks, you'll have to do something extraordinary. Maybe you'll have to write the president of the company a letter every day for a year. And maybe that president will ignore you for 364 days. But on the 365th day…persistence, as it often does, wins the day.

My point is, there are thousands of truly incredible products out there. And because I really do believe in "aiming high and dreaming big," I believe they should ALL be available for sale at TripleClicks. And with a little "aim high, dream big" of your own, there's no reason right now why you, YES YOU, can't get YOUR favorite products into TripleClicks with an automatic ECA Royalty paid to you on every sale for life.

But I said opportunity was knocking on TWO doors, didn't I? What is the second door?

The second door is YOU becoming an ECA, becoming a true entrepreneur and creating a product of your own to sell at TripleClicks of course! And let's not forget having tens of thousands of your fellow SFI affiliates marketing and selling YOUR product!

Now, if you've never considered such a thing, this might sound like a pretty wild proposition. I understand that. But the fact is, there are THOUSANDS of products you could create and sell at TripleClicks. Some quick examples are art, crafts, gift baskets, and all forms of how-to information (books, e-books, special reports, etc.).

But this is just the tip of the iceberg. I did a quick search for "home business" under the Books category at Amazon.com just now. Here are just two books of over 2,200 it found that you can acquire to get ideas from:




850 ideas in just these two books! Yeah, I think you can come up with some products you can create and sell successfully as an ECA at TripleClicks! You just have to decide you're going to do it...and then make it happen!

Here's another idea for you: Who are the biggest shoppers right now at TC? SFI Affiliates. What would SFI Affiliates be interested in buying?

How about specialized how-to information? Do you know how to successfully use classified ads...or build high-traffic Webpages...or do phone follow-ups for example? Write it up and put your copyright on it. Then sell it as a special report or e-book to SFI affiliates and millions of other Internet marketers.

How about custom Twitter backgrounds or splash pages?

Here's another one: SFI affiliates are constantly asking for good examples of email messages, welcome letters, follow-up messages, weekly newsletters, etc. If you're a good writer, you could create a book of such messages or even have monthly subscriptions for ongoing content. Do a good job with it and I might even give your creation my personal endorsement and recommend it to every new affiliate who joins SFI!

Be creative! Imagination is a "use it, or lose it" thing. You were born with great imagination and you can make it work for you again if you apply yourself.

And there's a big key right there: "Apply yourself"

Even though I came from a small town and a family of modest means, had no formal business education, and had no money to invest, I found the way to great success. And, in my opinion, the only difference between me and the "average Joe" is simply that I applied myself.

So I challenge you today. Will YOU apply yourself? Opportunity is knocking on two doors at this very moment. Seems like a great time to break away from the crowd and show the world what you got!

1500 in 15 


As you know from our big August 5th announcements (see 8/5/09 entries at SFI NEWS), SFI now features an exciting, new "Co-Sponsorship" program.

What's a Co-Sponsor? Co-Sponsor is a new position we've created that is assigned by SFI Corporate. Similar to the Sponsor, the Co-Sponsor shares in the financial benefits and support responsibilities of the affiliate of whom he/she is the assigned Co-Sponsor.

As an affiliate's Co-Sponsor, you can immediately begin earning up to 24% CV commissions on all their purchases (plus an additional 4% to 8% on all their sales)! This benefit can also continue monthly! For exact commission details and qualifications, see the SFI Compensation Plan.

Co-Sponsorships are assigned in two primary ways, which you can read about HERE.

What I want to talk about specifically today, however, is the co-sponsorships that brand new affiliates can receive, and the requirements. The requirements are very simple and straightforward:

Accumulate 1500 VersaPoints within your first 15 days

Do that and you've qualified to receive (currently, approximately 20) co-sponsorships that could be worth hundreds or even thousands of dollars to you in the years to come.

But, wow, isn't 1500 a LOT of points to have to produce in just 15 days? Actually, no. Let's do the math:

Let's say you just joined SFI. Assuming you've confirmed your registration and whitelisted SFI's mailing address (these are the first two steps required before you can even enter the SFI Affiliate Center), you've already got 400 points to start.

For easy, "getting started" points, you can now do the following 13 actions:

For completing your Affiliate Profile (200 points)
For reviewing the "R" (Refer) Index (50 points)
For reviewing the "S" (Sponsor) Index (50 points)
For sending your SFI Commitment Message to your sponsor (50 points)
For entering a personal welcome message to greet the affiliates you sponsor (50 points)
For registering as an a2a member (50 points)
For reading the Getting Started FAQs (20 points)
For reading the "About SFI" page (20 points)
For reviewing the SFI Compensation Plan (10 points)
For reviewing the SFI Benefits Chart (10 points)
For reviewing the Global Growth Report (30 points)
For registering to follow SFI on Twitter (30 points)
For uploading your photo to the Affiliate Center (30 points)

All of the above can be completed, easily, in just 1-2 hours, and it's generated another 600 points for you. So in just your first hour or two, you can easily reach 1000 points.

Of course, a new affiliate is also now receiving our LaunchPad™ "getting started" training e-mails. Each day's quiz earns you another 20 points. So, by day 15, you've grabbed another easy 300 points (15 days x 20 points = 300).

That's a grand total of 1300 points now, without even breaking a sweat. To get the remaining 200, you can earn four points a day just for logging into the SFI Affiliate Center and visiting your SFI Homepage. You can earn 240 points for purchasing an EyeEarn Starter Kit. And there are numerous other actions listed on your SFI To-Do List you can take to easily reach 1500 points within 15 days.

And you can, of course, also earn UNLIMITED points with sales or purchases at TripleClicks (many of our most popular products come with 1000 points or more!)

By the way, if you hadn't noticed, the new co-sponsorship program is designed to not only provide a great incentive to get seriously active in SFI right away, but also to ensure that the affiliates who receive co-sponsorships REMAIN active, too.

How? To retain any co-sponsorships received, an affiliate must achieve 1500 points or more every month. They forfeit the co-sponsorships if they fail to maintain the 1500 point level, and no one wants to lose such a valuable asset of course!

So, with that in mind, it's VERY important that when you're recruiting new affiliates that you work with them to reach the 1500 points in 15 days.

Here's a tip for doing that: Go to your genealogy and use the Join Date filter to pull up just your affiliates who are within their first 15 days. Now, sort by "VP(T)–-this is the abbreviation for Total VersaPoints To Date--in descending (dsc) order.

You can now see exactly who in your organization still has an opportunity to secure a quantity of co-sponsorships, and you can contact them to see if you can assist them.

Here's a really good way to do it: Click on their VersaPoints total–that is, the points listed under the "VP(T)" column. You'll now see a listing (in a new window) of all the actions they've earned points for so far and all the actions that they can do to earn even more points. For many of your affiliates, you'll probably see a number of "easy" actions that they can grab quick points for. Point these actions out to them and offer helpful advice where you can. For example, maybe they don't understand how to get set up to follow SFI on Twitter (a 30-pointer), but YOU do.

Help them get as many points as they can. You'll be helping them and you'll be positioning yourself for great, long-term growth!

NOTE: Once you get them to 1500 points, they've also become an EA (Executive Affiliate), which earns YOU 100 VersaPoints for the month--and which you'll continue to earn every month they remain at the EA level!

POINTS! WHAT'S THE POINT? 



Unless you missed the big announcements over at SFI NEWS, you've learned that we have moved away from our old "EA (Executive Affiliate)-centric" system to one that will be "point-centric."

For over ten years now, our main message has essentially been "upgrade to EA." This has mostly been a successful strategy, but where it seems to fall short at times is that it requires people to get an understanding of why they would want to be an EA. They also have to figure out the "how" to become an EA. All this slows things down. And many people just never seem to grasp it.

Now think about a system where the simple message, from minute one in SFI, is, "the more points you earn, the more money you can make." That's now exactly what we have!

As evidenced by our Power Rank Points program, people immediately get the points thing. "More points means more good" is understood by everyone instantly without us having to explain it. I guess it's all those years of playing video games. :-)

Yes, I've see ample evidence of this everywhere and in all of our statistics that measure affiliate activity. In many cases, where we are awarding points, we've increased activity by 10-20 times compared to previously when no points were involved.

By the way, I wish I could say I saw this coming, but I can't. When we introduced the Power Rank program a few months ago, I felt strongly that the program would be well received. After all, it's fun to compete and see how you stack up against your peers. I rightly assumed that lots of our affiliates would embrace the program, but I did NOT anticipate how many and how strongly that embrace would be!

What's really interesting to note is that, until today, we've really only minimally promoted the points program. If you've been wondering why we haven't, it's because we wanted to really get behind it, and do it right, which has taken substantial system redesign and reprogramming. Today's announcements of course unveil these efforts.

And speaking of substantial efforts, allow me to throw the spotlight on some of our team members for just a moment. You like what you see today? None of it could have happened without the following four members of our design and programming team:

So, as you can see, even with only minimal promotions, the points program has been VERY successful. Well, now imagine it fully promoted, indeed a system BASED on points, where it's THE key to higher payouts and perks, and you can appreciate why I'm very, very excited about the months ahead.

By the way, there are still the same titles as before (Affiliate, EA, BTL, STL, GTL, and PTL). It's just that now you earn these titles by generating points. The focus is on the points, the titles are just one of the many perks you get for reaching specific point totals.

I believe there will be MANY benefits derived from today's change:

1. First and foremost, as I've already mentioned, new affiliates will now immediately "get" what to do and we've make it super easy for them to starting "doing" right after joining. For one thing, we've rebuilt the SFI homepage around a new to-do list of every action they can do to earn points (removing each action from the homepage as soon as they've completed it to make it really slick).

There's a LOT more we've done to the homepage, by the way, but I'll let you get the details on this from SFI NEWS.

2. Shorter level jumps. 500 points is the starting level (to earn anything in SFI, you have to do at least 500 points). The next level (with higher payouts and a few more perks) is 1000. You then really hit the mother-load of payouts and perks starting at 1500 points (the "executive level") and then the four Team Leader positions which are at 3000, 4000, 5000, and 6000 points respectively.

You might notice that we've set the numbers so that when you hit one level, the next is "temptingly close." We've of course designed it this way so there is added incentive to keep advancing all month long. And, yes, we've built this element into special notices that you'll see at the Affiliate Center now, and also into e-mail reminders, etc. so that everyone is always aware what they need in points to achieve the next level's benefits. One of the best examples of this is found in our new SFI Benefits Chart:

3. Action/purchase/sales combinations. Say you've accumulated 1200 points and you want to hit the EA level of 1500 points this month. You don't think you can generate the 300 you need by the end of the month with actions, so what do you do? Simple–you go to TripleClicks and find a product you want with 300 or more points and buy it or have a friend or family member buy it using your link. All levels (from affiliate, all the way to Platinum Team Leader) can be attained by combination of actions, purchases, or sales each month.

"But, Gery, isn't everyone going to just now do actions instead of sales or purchases?"

For an affiliate's first month, many will, yes. But that's OK! If you look at the actions they will have taken and the training they will have absorbed, this is great, great, and more great! I would much rather have our system producing five thousand trained, active, and ENGAGED new affiliates every day than a few daily sales from a few hundred semi-engaged, semi-trained, semi-confused affiliates!

The sales will come. You must look at the "big picture!" Those five thousand affiliates will, no doubt, in subsequent months, be MUCH more active affiliates, and produce sales and revenues in MUCH greater numbers.

After all, if they want to earn money, they will have to soon step outside of the training and getting-started actions because, for one thing, these kinds of actions don't generate significant income, and number two, the points these kinds of actions produce can only be earned ONCE.

"OK, Gery, I can see that now, but what if I get some guy who just recruits hundreds of affiliates or TripleClicks customers every month to earn the points he needs."

I'd take as many guys like this as I could get!! Talk about your goldmines! Someone bringing in enough affiliates and/or TC members to earn big VersaPoints is a tremendous asset. Though his or her efforts, you can be earning substantial override commissions and be seeing massive growth. Take all the guys like this you can get and support them with everything you've got!

One more thing today: I'm really stoked about what the new VersaPoints system is going to do for our growing base of international affiliates. The door is going to be WIDE OPEN now for our international affiliates to get fully engaged and active with SFI. And this of course could have huge positive impact on everyone's business. Yes, the future just got a LOT brighter!!

International Shipping Solution 



For many years now, we've been trying to solve the shipping cost issue for our international (primarily non-North American) affiliates.

There's just no getting around the fact that if you live in, say Australia, the shipping cost is going to be expensive to receive a bottle of, say SFI's Advanced Liquid Nutrition, because it must come all the way from our warehouse in Lincoln, Nebraska USA.

And for the record, we charge for shipping and handling ONLY what WE get charged by the carrier. Not a cent less or more.

THE SOLUTION

We believe the solution will come with the launch of our coming commercial sellers program at TripleClicks (TC). Participants in this new program will be known as "E-Commerce Associates" or ECAs.

The ECA program will work like this:

Any company can apply to participate in the program (there will be a simple online application).

To participate, the company must be willing to provide SFI with wholesale prices on any products they wish to sell at TC (we're not going to allow them to receive the free traffic we generate and market their products side by side with our products unless they're willing to make it worth our while of course).

There are other requirements as well (more on this in a moment).

Once an ECA has been accepted, they will be provided with a special account where they can immediately begin entering basically unlimited product listings. From this form, they'll be able to enter a product name and description, weight, specifications, price, etc., upload product photos, and choose the appropriate department(s) for the product. There is no cost to the ECA to list their products on TC.

Once entered and approved by SFI, the listings will immediately appear in TC alongside all the other products in that department. They will also be searchable by name, keyword, VP, CV, etc.

Note that an order at TC always uses ONE shopping cart. A shopping cart may contain "TC Direct" products (such as Advanced Liquid Nutrition) and/or Private Seller items and/or ECA items. And all payment processing will be done by TC.

Example: We take an order for a widget sold by XYZ Company on September 1st. Upon processing payment, we forward the order via e-mail to XYZ Company (this would normally be within minutes of receipt of the order). We then send payment (the retail price, plus shipping, minus the percentage earmarked for us), electronically, to the ECA.

So, in short, the basic requirement for ECAs will be:

1. Wholesale prices offered to SFI
2. Acceptance of orders via daily electronic transmission
3. Orders shipped promptly and directly to customers with daily electronic payment

These are very reasonable requirements. And in return, some sizable and growing benefits will be theirs to enjoy. TC is already a top 25,000 website worldwide and we've only just begun. 95% of TC programs, products, and features are still to come. Traffic will, no doubt, increase exponentially over the years to come.

So having your products in TC will allow you to easily have your products exposed to a large and diverse worldwide audience (and many thousands of affiliates looking for products to buy from their countries).

And there you go! With that last sentence, do you see the solution coming into focus?

That is, once the ECA program is launched, excellently-priced products and services of hundreds, if not thousands, of companies from your country can all be available to you from within TC (and with sizable CV and VP to make earning EA status easier than ever before)!

EVEN BETTER

So what would be even better than having access to thousands of products direct from your homeland? How about also earning a royalty on EVERY product sold at TC by every company that you refer to TC? Yes, this and perhaps group royalty overrides, too, are being considered.

Referring an ECA would be as simple as referring them to an SFI Gateway as you do now. Full information and the application form will be provided at the Gateway. All you have to do is get them to the Gateway. For any referrals you generate, you're looking at receiving royalties on EVERY sale from your referred company WORLDWIDE...for LIFE! It doesn't get any better than that, folks!

WHEN? WHERE? HOW?!

Launch of this program is still months away, but I'd encourage you to start preparing now. Start lining up companies in your country (and/or worldwide) you think would be good prospects for the ECA program so that when we do launch, you'll be ready to hit the ground running. A good idea is to also get the name of the company's owner or marketing director as they will likely be the decision makers. You might start talking to them now, give them the preliminary details, and get their permission now to let them know when the program launches.

Who would be good prospects for the ECA program? Initially at least, I would not recommend pursuing major companies. For a variety of reasons, they're probably not going to see significant value in participating, at least in the beginning. Instead, look for companies that are young and hungry to grow. Size-wise, small to mid-sized companies are probably your best bets. You'll have a much easier time getting through to the decision makers and they likely won't have layers and layers of management to stall action.

There are of course companies to avoid, too. Grocery stores or similar stores that do not ship products to customers are probably not viable candidates. We will also not accept companies that sell adult or controversial products.

Note: As always, we have a zero tolerance policy on spamming so make sure you factor this in. For example, preparing a list of companies should include full postal addresses and/or phone numbers so that you can use postal mail or the telephone, not e-mail, to contact prospective companies about becoming ECAs.

Tip: Companies and businesses that are not yet selling on the Internet are great prospects too. This is because with our ECA program, we'll be giving them a way to jump on the Internet with all the heavy lifting done for them. If they can receive email, they can participate because we're going to provide the audience for them, take the order for them, and handle all the payment processing. All they have to do is ship the orders that we forward to them to the customer. That's it.

ONE MORE THING...A NEW FEATURE DEBUTS

In the meantime, it would sure be nice if you could easily locate products in TC that DO ship from your country NOW, wouldn't it?! Well, you'll be pleased to know that, as of today, we have added this feature to the Advanced Search at TC.

Note that it will, of course, only deliver results for listings that indeed ship from your country. If you live in a country that has no MaxMalls Merchants or no Private Seller Listings yet, it will return no results. OF COURSE, THAT'S WHAT THE NEW ECA PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO SOLVE! So, if you're not seeing results on a search of your country yet–hang in there–it's coming! As well as many other exciting additions and features to YOUR STORE, TripleClicks!

MaxMalls Integration With TC 



Starting last week, we have begun integrating our MaxMalls.com Merchants (MMM) into TripleClicks.com (TC). Some of the first ones you'll see are represented by eight new departments at TC (Beauty & Fragrance, Education, Financial Services, Live Entertainment, Real Estate, Romance, Phone & Tech Services, and Travel).

Additional MMMs will be showing up soon within our other existing TC departments.

Why integrate? With MaxMalls integrated into TripleClicks…

A. ALL of our e-commerce offerings are centralized in ONE store. Just one store to promote and build around.

B. With our heavy emphasis and steadily-growing traffic at TC, we will no doubt generate more sales for our MMMs. And since 100% of MMM revenues go straight into the Executive Bonus pool, that means potentially much larger Executive Bonuses.

C. The addition of MMMs means a greatly broadened TC. Instead of just over 10,000 products (currently anyway), TC can soon trumpet the availability of over a MILLION products and services and, truly, something for everyone!

Questions & Answers:

Q: So if I refer someone to TC and they end up making a purchase at one of the MMMs, will I earn a commission?
A: Not directly, no. As has always been the case with MaxMalls, all MaxMalls revenues go into the Executive Bonus pool and are split up equally amongst all EAs. So long as you are an EA (Executive Affiliate), you'll receive one equal share in the form of an Executive Bonus.

Q: Why not just track MMM sales to me directly and pay me directly instead of having a pool?
A: We'd actually prefer to do that. And we've tried this, more than once, in past years. But it's simply not practical. For starters, individual tracking with hundreds of different merchants is very difficult to do accurately and has very complex reporting requirements. Each merchant also has its own policies on when it pays. Some pay weekly. Some monthly. Some quarterly. Some don't pay until certain amounts are reached. And so on.

Hence, we are constantly dealing with affiliates saying, "Hey, I placed an order (or I know someone who placed an order) with such and such store, so where's my commission?" And our Affiliate Support Team members winds up spending all its time tracking down these queries. More than 99% of the time, there's no problem, the order was successfully recorded and a commission is forthcoming. It's just that every merchant has different policies on when they pay out. And we can't pay you until we get paid by the merchant.

The bottom line is that we just cannot be spending all our time tracking down queries of this kind. It's completely counter-productive and takes us away from the areas where assistance is truly needed. It's SOOOOOOO much easier to simply put all the revenues received from MMMs into a pool and pay it out in shares to qualified affiliates each month. Clean and simple!

Q: That doesn't seem fair to me. If I refer someone to TC and they end up making a purchase at an MMM, it should be ME and me only that earns that commission.
A: That's one way to look at it. But please consider this: We have many THOUSANDS of affiliates referring prospects to TC every day. Some may refer many more than you and be responsible for generating many more sales from MMMs than you. Using a pool, you actually will receive MORE income than if we were able to track individual sales back to you and pay you directly. Not only that, but you'll get paid a share of the pool whether or not you generate ANY MMM sales. So it works both ways.

Q: Is there SVP associated with sales from MMMs?
A: No, for the same reason as above. Individual tracking is just not practical because we have to rely on the various merchants and they do not provide the information we need in a way we can utilize it for awarding SVP in a timely fashion.

Q: Timely fashion?
A: Yes, imagine we were able to attach SVP to MMM orders and you generated a big order worth 10 SVP to qualify you for EA status this month. Because this merchant's reporting is inadequate and/or they pay us only quarterly, we can't award you the SVP until they let us know of the order and/or pay us...and so you lose your EA status, lose your larger EA commissions, etc. It just doesn't work. We must use a pool to make it work.

Q: So MaxMalls will ALWAYS be a pool then?
A: No. If a practical method of tracking sales individually comes along, we'll be glad to consider changing.

Q: You don't have very many MaxMalls merchants from my country. Why not?
A: We're open to adding many more merchants from all over the world, but in order for them to participate they MUST have an affiliate program. That is, they must be able to track any orders that SFI generates and they must pay us commissions on those sales. Not every e-commerce site on the Internet has this. If you know of a good e-commerce site in your country that DOES, let us know via our Suggestion Box at the Affiliate Center. They may be even better prospects for our coming E-Commerce Associates program, which WILL have individual tracking, SVP, etc. Be watching for information on the E-Commerce Associate program SOON.
